Maria Gregoriou is an English and a Cypriot qualified Barrister. She has extensive expertise in the international aspects of taxation, covering both corporate and private client matters.
Maria advises on legal issues which relate to the tax implications of cross border structuring and transactions, mergers and acquisitions, group refinancing and other intra-group restructuring, as well as personal international tax planning.
Maria is a regular speaker at international conferences and a member of the International Fiscal Association, Cyprus Branch and the Committee of Tax Planning of the Cyprus Bar Association. As of June 2015, Maria is a regulated Insolvency Practitioner according to the provisions of the Cyprus law and is instructed to advise on insolvency and bankruptcy cases of both corporate clients and private client individuals.
In 2007 she was awarded the Heather Self Gold Medal for obtaining the highest mark in Paper I, Principles of International Taxation for the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation, a professional qualification awarded by the Chartered Institute of Taxation in the UK.
